B.A. Biology and Environmental Studies, St. Olaf College
Born and raised in the beautiful river city of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Rebecca spent much of her childhood on outdoor adventures with her family which instilled a love for the natural world. She graduated from St. Olaf College with a double major in Biology and Environmental Studies. During her undergraduate years, Rebecca worked as St. Olaf’s Student Naturalist and traveled to the colorful country of India where she studied conventional and organic farming practices. Experiences such as these made Rebecca confident that she wanted to pursue a career working to connect individuals with the environment. Since graduating, Rebecca has worked for the Chicago Botanic Garden, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Mississippi Valley Conservancy in a variety of environmental education and conservation roles. Rebecca enjoys working with students to inspire environmental stewardship through hands-on, experiential education both in the classroom and in the wilderness. She also enjoys beekeeping, practicing yoga, backpacking, trail running, and other silent sports. You can view Rebecca's teacher page here.
