Stefan has served as the Head of Conserve School since the spring of 2003.
Stefan studied physics at St. Olaf College where he spent the summers studying glaciers and falling in love with the Cascade Mountains. After earning a Master’s in physics from MIT, he began his work with high school students and teachers in Minneapolis. Stefan attributes his passion for inspiring young environmental stewards to the outdoor loving adults who allowed him to spend significant amounts of unstructured time in the woods as a child. He believes that effective environmental education must engage the heart, head and the hands.
