- Alumni Stories
Every morning while attending Conserve School, students walked past the words of founder James Lowenstine as they entered the LAB, a sign that speaks of their “love of Lowenwood.” For many, that love of the school remains long after they have left. That continuing “love of Lowenwood” was on full display recently during Conserve’s Winter Connection Weekend (January 10-11, 2020).
A hardy group of Conserve alums from a wide range of semesters, hailing from places like Chicago, California, Madison, and beyond, gathered back on campus for a weekend of cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, campfires, good food, and memories. Old friends reconnected and new friendships formed as alums visited favorite spots on campus, caught up with staff members, shared stories, and enjoyed a bright, snowy winter weekend at Lowenwood. “Coming back here is always like coming home,” said one attendee of the Winter Connections Weekend. And we hope it always will be!
