- Alumni Stories
In the community of artists, young artists learn from and are inspired by others. Elizabeth Haegerl CS18 (Spring 2019) was among the Conserve School art students privileged to work with Bruce Crownover, an accomplished professional printmaker during his "artist-in-residence" stay at our school. Crownover took the students deep into his creative process, teaching them how to create reduction prints from an idea to the final print. His enthusiasm and instruction sparked Elizabeth's artistic interest to continue printmaking as one of her mediums. Recently, one of her creations was chosen as one of two student works to be exhibited in Kenosha where her self portrait entitled "Genesis" was selected as "Best of Show" by a panel of judges from UW Parkside and the Racine Art Museum. Art inspiring Art, artist-to-artist.
Thank you to Bruce Crownover for inspiring our students and congratulations to Elizabeth.
